Annual Community Outreach

Vision Arcade’s annual community outreach projects are at the core of our mission to deliver life-changing eye care to underserved communities across West Africa, including The Gambia, Nigeria, and Zimbabwe. Over the past five years, we’ve provided essential eye health checks, distributed free prescription glasses and eye drops, and sponsored vital surgeries, such as cataract procedures, that restore sight and transform lives. These outreach efforts bring much-needed services directly to the people who need them most, ensuring no one is left behind due to lack of access. Beyond the immediate care we provide, our outreach ensures long-term impact. For patients with chronic conditions like glaucoma, we offer continuous support by providing regular access to medication through local medical centre pick-up points. We follow up annually to monitor disease progression and provide post-surgical care for cataract patients, ensuring they recover well and regain their independence. Our outreach isn’t just about solving problems in the short term—it’s about creating lasting change by providing ongoing support. These community outreach projects do more than restore sight; they empower individuals, reduce stigma, and help entire communities thrive. By making eye care accessible to marginalized groups, including women, girls, and people with disabilities, we are working toward a future where everyone has equal access to eye health. As we expand these efforts, we remain committed to working with partners and sponsors to continue delivering this critical care and creating sustainable, long-term solutions for vulnerable communities.
