We believe that getting rid of preventable /avoidable blindness is one of the most efficient way of combating poverty. Worldwide 217 million people have moderate to severe visual impairment but over 80% of these causes can be prevented or cured (WHO, 2017). The vast majority of people worldwide with vision problem could be treated or cured, improving diagnosis and screening isn’t enough to address this problem, the need for very simple solution like visual aids, regular use of eye drops or simple surgical procedure is making millions go blind or live with less than standard vision or even low vision particularly in developing world, visual aids provided for free and healthcare system changes can go a long way to solve this.

Our approach is to provide free glasses, free visual aids ,eye drops like glaucoma drops, antibiotics, antiviral drops or just educating patients on eye care, eye disease and how to take care of themselves and knowing when to go and see the doctor, making regular eye checks a norm rather than a last option.

We plan to enable the set- up of a health care system where children age 0 to 18 can access free eye health checks and visual aid and adults aged 60+ can access free eye health check without having to pay for it and also patients with glaucoma and diabetes can get a free yearly checks including some patients on certain medications.

We also plan to establish eye care facilities in very poor rural and urban areas in our west African nations and train staffs to support these facilities making eye care more accessible and affordable for all in poor west African communities.
